Jonathan Taylor Associates

Bringing the pieces together to fund your vision

Jonathan Taylor Associates is a fundraising consulting firm focused on mentoring clients and helping them create the right strategic plan that will lead to a successfully funded future. We believe a thoughtful and realistic plan is the most important factor in achieving success. Our consultants have helped dozens of clients secure funding for a diversity of projects and programs that have had a positive impact on the communities they serve.

At Jonathan Taylor Associates, outstanding service is at the heart of everything we do. We offer advice and support throughout your fundraising experience  from helping to articulate your strategic direction to celebrating your success. We provide complete and sustainable solutions.  Most fundraising firms tout the fact that each project is unique and that they use no boilerplate in conducting your campaign.   While all programs are unique, the process itself is not. What sets us apart is our attention to detail and our belief in your project.  Our consultants are veterans of many campaigns and use the technique that will be most effective for your organization.

Over the years, our team of professionals has earned a reputation for excellence in the field of nonprofit funding and management.  Our unparalleled advice, backed by experience and expertise, sets us apart from all other consulting companies.  We have a panel of experienced advisors representing a plethora of nonprofit organizations available to add dimension to our efforts.

Our principal, John J. Vishio, was schooled in the art of fundraising in Philadelphia with a highly respected old line firm.  "My mentor used to refer to the 'insistent voice of the director' to keep a project moving forward...not bells and whistles," he explains.  "Basically there are four parts inherent in every campaign: 1) getting the right volunteer, 2)  to see the right prospect, 3) asking for the right amount and 4) doing it for the right cause."

You Are in Good Company

Getting Started

You have done the hard work -- creating a new vision for the future of your organization.  Now it's time for us to make that vision a reality.

Your fundraising effort should begin with a clearly defined strategic target.  You may need to expand your facility, but your strategic goal should focus on fulfilling community needs (i.e., more capacity for patient care, additional learning labs to help students, etc,).  Your consultant is available to facilitate this effort working with you, your board and staff.

The next step is a thorough feasibility study.  This will give you a very clear indication of both how much money you can raise and from whom.  Based on input from you and your board, your consultant will meet with 75 to 100 key prospects, sharing with them your vision and assessing their commitment to both your organization and your project.  The resulting analysis will help you identify your funding goal and timeframe.

When warranted by the feasibility study, the capital campaign gets underway and at this point a complete case statement is prepared.  Our consultant will work in concert with  volunteers to solicit and solidify commitments.  It is important that the campaign consistently refers back to the four "rights" identified again as: (1) getting the right volunteer, 2) getting to see the right prospect, 3) asking for the right amount and 4) doing it for the right cause.)

Don't forget to celebrate!  Your consultant will help you create a celebratory event that recognizes your investors and advances your cause.

Before closing out the campaign, your consultant will advise you on how to remain connected to your investors, making your next funding effort easier.
